LINOCUT PRINTING with Chine Collé on Saturday 4th October

Learn how to make linocut prints with chine collé in this one-day course.
In a small group setting with print tutor Nichola Goff, you will go through the basics of the linocut process from design, carving, registering your print and using the Albion relief printing press to produce unique hand-made relief prints.
You will also learn how to add colour to your prints using the chine collé technique. Chine collé is a method of incorporating light weight papers such as coloured tissue or cut-outs from newspapers to a print allowing for a wide scope of added possibilities to just one printing plate.
You will produce:
A small set of hand-made lino prints.
You will learn:
How to transfer designs to a linocut block
How to prepare and carve lino using lino carving tools.
How to prepare relief printing inks and ink up a lino block.
How to embed chine collé papers into a print to create multi-colour prints.
How to use the Albion Press for relief printing.
This course also works as an induction to the print workshop for anyone who wants to use open access for relief printing and those who want to refresh their skills.
