THE YARD PRINT STUDIO
The Yard Print Studio is run by printmaker Nichola Goff and located in Drybrook in the Forest of Dean. The studio is equipped with a Hopkinson & Cope 1874 Albion relief press, letterpress equipment, Hawthorn etching press as well as a screenprint table and exposure unit. The studio offers open access sessions, courses and master classes in print processes run by Nichola Goff as well as visiting tutors. Nichola also works to commission from the studio and runs community print projects.

“Our Story: The setting up of the studio is an inheritance from the de-commissioning of the Art practice department at the University of South Wales. With the arts under threat from government funding cuts and the institutions that are remembered for incubating many important art and social movements struggling to keep going, it feels ever important for independent artist-led studios to be able to offer a resource and teaching outlet. “Art is critical!”- student grafitti at USW.”
Open access Courses Commissions
The studio can currently be rented on a half day rate, with technical support. Nichola worked for 8 years as a printmaking technical instructor and can give support, tuition and advice on most print processes. The studio is well equipped for drypoint, collagraph, relief printing woodblock, linocut and letterpress. There are also screen-printing, pigment processing and paper making facilities.

Join printmaking tutor Nichola Goff at The Yard Print Studio for six weeks of basic printmaking techniques.
This popular introductory course covers all the basics of print and is a great way to get to know the studio, be introduced to the wonderful world of printmaking and have a go at the various techniques you can explore at The Yard Print Studio. This course is suitable for complete beginners, artists who want to explore printmaking in their practice or those with experience who want to refresh their skills.
