As part of the INKED Print Festival workshop program we are excited to offer this one-day masterclass in Mokuhanga printing with Cheltenham based printmaker and illustrator Martyna Sabadasz.

MOKUHANGA is a traditional Japanese water-based woodblock printing technique. It is an eco-friendly process that doesn’t require heavy machinery for printing, and can produce very delicate, watercolour-like imagery.

In the workshop, we will learn to cut and print simple abstracted shapes to produce a two-colour image. We will be working with the negative and positive spaces of the shina plywood and watercolour pigments.

Happening at: The Yard Print Studio

Limited to 4 participants.

Suitable for all abilities.

This course has been subsidised by the INKED Festival funding awarded by Arts Council England to make it a very affordable workshop.
