Intermediate Printmaking beginning Wednesday 21st January 2026
Join printmaking tutor Nichola Goff at The Yard Print Studio for eight weeks of intermediate level printmaking.
This course is designed as a follow up to the Introduction to Printmaking course suitable for those who attended the course or those who have some printmaking experience they want to develop.
Over eight weeks participants will delve deeper into printmaking techniques; exploring painterly printmaking methods of monoprinting, developing their intaglio printmaking skills over three weeks with advanced drypoint, collagraph printing and chine collé, learn how to screenprint with photographic stencils and expand their knowledge of relief printing over the final two weeks with multi-plate lino print.
The course has longer sessions than the introductory programme allowing time to gain momentum within sessions. Students will focus on developing a body of work and will be invited to prepare printing plates at home so that sessions concentrate on developing printing skills with participants learning to feel confident and able to work independently in the studio.
Course content includes:
Week 1 Monoprinting
Week 2/3/4 Drypoint, Collagraph & Chine collé
Week 5/6 Screenprinting with photographic stencils
Week 7/8 Multi-plate Linocut printing
