from £65.00

TUESDAY 11th - THURSDAY 13th AUGUST

10.30am - 4.30pm

Three days immersion in experimental low tech printmaking to encourage playful practice and get you thinking outside the box when it comes to print!

Relief Print | Paper Construction | Rubber Stamps | Artist Book Forms

with Melanie Clarke and Nichola Goff.

Working with two experienced printmakers who both have a love of contemporary practice and pushing the parameters of printmaking; this course explores repurposing packaging and found surfaces to discover print possibilities, manipulating, layering, deconstructing, folding, stamping, sewing, binding and expanding prints to find new forms.

Over the three days participants will learn about relief printing with the Albion Press and by hand, paper manipulation and book forms, looking at surface, pattern and abstracting ideas.

Participants will leave with a series of newly created work, ideas and skills.

All materials included.

Melanie Clarke explores the endless possibilities of utilising printmaking techniques including collagraph, stone lithography and relief printing methods. “I enjoy the physicality of the process both in the building of a matrix and the coaxing of ink transfer to paper and then further investigations into the properties of the paper itself by folding, burning, piercing and stitching allowing the form to appear over time.”
